<p>Yesterday, under the trees in the center of Harvard Yard, the president and deans of Harvard College welcomed the members of the 370th class to the Harvard family. It was an absolutely perfect day.</p>

<p>I was .The ceremony was inspiring. Right now the freshman are at Camp Harvard having a grand time. I think the fun is over next week.</p>
<p>That's right, next week we're hitting the books! To all my fellow freshmen, that's RIGHT, I am posting on this website right now. And I know just<em>forget</em>me is reading this. ; -)</p>

<p>It was the same last year when the president declared open the 369th academic year of the university. Great ceremony, the choirs sang, beautiful weather -- another perfect day.</p>

<p>I didn't hang around for the ceremonies, but I know my S is enjoying himself. I think he and some suitemates are planning to go hear Terry Pratchett this Friday. It will make a nice change from all the placement tests.</p>
