3rd Worst Food in the nation

Not sure if this got posted before, but I just saw that KP managed to make it into the top five of a very prestigous list.....

Princeton review ranks us as having the third worst food in a college in the US. Oh how I can believe that. They pull the wool over the eyes of the parents and dignitaries by serving their "best" on the days those people at with us, and even that is lacking. Thankfully there's always pizza and hamburgers, haha.

Mystery meat is mystery meat, even on parents weekend! Glad they have a salad bar and PB&J available. You can even make a tuna sandwich off the salad bar and the bread! I understand KP keeps the local pizza and chinese delivery services in business!

I must give them credit though, chicken nugget and buffalo wing day are two of the best....too bad they only happen once in a blue moon

I actually laughed out loud at this KP! Just a few hours ago I had told Boss that I think they eat chicken every day and twice on sundays. So this is why my kid eats anything I send him in that box. Hmmmm... Perhaps they need me to set them up with a good chef? LOL They use good product cause I've seen back in the kitchens. Who's preparing the stuff? The Plebes? They really need to let the Jamz back there.

usmma gets slaughtered in the rankings:
#5 Professors Get Low Marks
#6 Don't Inhale
#10 Students Most Nostalgic For Reagan
#4 Dorms Like Dungeons Quality of Life
#3 Is It Food?
#8 Least Happy Students
#18 Future Rotarians And Daughters Of The American Revolution

Words can't describe how badly I feel for students at the Colorado School of Mines.

So Taffy, what's wrong with #'s 6, 10, & 18? ....I kinda like those stats :)

This says something - son's 2nd choice after USMMA was Colorado School of Mines! Obviously, engineers are not into good food.

I have to somewhat disagree with #8...

I think it's just b/c we like to b***h alot that it seems we are unhappy while there. I must say I was always pretty happy, but if anyone asked I would have told them I was miserable. I don't want the secret of KP being spread too far, it might ruin it ;)

5 is right, 6 sorta is, 10 is on the $$ along with 18, 4 is true for old barracks, but isnt that how a military school should be? 3 is on the money and 8 is right. KPS

Why did the academy receive #5 Professors Get Low Marks? Is it because Princeton does not know how to rank such a different school?!? Or do the professors deserve this rank?

Dive - as with any college/academy in America, there is always the good and the bad in all things. Try not to use the Princeton Review as a set in stone guide. I'd be more concerned over the food issue! :) Hope your parents know about "boodle" (food) boxes. Tell them to send lots & lots. I haven't heard too much complaining about food or Prof. But then again, I get yes and no answers to questions like, "How were classes today?" answer, "Yes" or "What did you eat for dinner?" answer, "No." Very informative....

i dont know if it's number 5, i mean there are a TON of really bad teachers. THEY KNOW THE MATERIAL, but very few have actually taken courses in teaching and have no clue how to teach it to kids, that's the problem

Davygravy- what did YOU eat today? What's "typical?" Just curious.

Don't know what Davy is eating today but Thursday, he'll be eating brownies. ;)

I actually was told the menu from last night! That was a first. It was (quote) "Chicken pasta stuff with mushroom and tomato sauce... salad from the bar, two glasses of water with lemon". Wonder if chicken pasta "stuff" was good. He didn't tell me that part. I'll bet the kids have feathers growing back for hair from all that chicken. Whoops! Your hair needs plucked! You're not in line with regulation!

The food is horrible......no question about that, if it wasn't for Frank's Red Hot I would die....as far as the teachers, so far, mine have been all pretty decent and fair, you earn your grades though, nothing is given to you.

There are definately some professors at the school that need to go on to other things. There is some(and i mean a little) truth to what davy said about the professors having no clue how to pass on the information they know. This is not the "typical" though, and most of the professors at the school are excellent. Tenure is alive and well at Kings Point and unfortunately it is tough to get new blood in sometimes. Some of the more difficult teachers get a bad rap for just being plain tough, but one of the toughest of them all, Capt. Hard, is one of the reasons I have succeeded in medical school.

wings today for lunch, yeaaaa

Chicken chicken chicken. I didn't know you could do so many things with chicken. Kinda like Bubba Gump Shrimp. Whats gonna happen when the bird flu hits america I say? Two days in a row, chicken was served twice a day. Must have been some sale! A half penny a pound. Feed a thousand for $9.99! That right folks. You too can feed the masses for only 9.99 a thousand lbs. Just call 1-800-Eat-Chic

I'm visitin USMMA right now and I'm using my plebe's laptop. The food here isn't terrible. I think it is no different from West Point and it's buffet style.
