4/2 Accepted Students Day

Attended today's session. The weather was absolutely beautiful. My son liked it as much as when he took the tour last fall, so he's definitely going.

We attended a couple of sessions but took time out to just explore the campus.

Also ate in a dining hall - the food was good, I could see where it might be easy to overdo it.

I noticed a lot of bikes chained up outside of buildings, not sure if this is something my son should consider. I can't imagine the grounds all all that great for much of the school year.

My S, who is a freshman, used his bike up to Thanksgiving break, and just took it back after spring break. He uses it a lot.

re food: college food has come a long way since back in the day of “one line, choose from meat puck A or meat lump B”. My rule back then was, if you have to ask what it is don’t eat it. This doesn’t really apply any more.

I’ve been told it’s no longer the Freshman 10, it’s the Freshman 20 (or more). It is very easy to overdo it, the food is incredible. I would be happy to stop cooking and eat there for every meal. :)

Well, I guess he’d better bring the bike to work off the food :-)
