My D had an amazing Student for the Day experience at QU this past week. It helped to answer a few questions that were surfacing about res life, her major, college fit, etc. She felt so at home! The staff was so nice; the students were so nice also. And while she was in classes, I was able to check out the college from a parents perspective while I was waiting. I also drove around town, and it was lovely. Felt very suburban (to me). Checked out a church in the area. Found all the basic shopping necessities. We also saw plenty of guys in attendance everywhere, which was something we wondered about with the guy/girl ratio (heavier on the girls). Ate in the cafeteria...delish. D ate sushi for lunch.

Just thought I'd post in case anyone is wondering if this option is worth it. It was! Sitting in the actual classes, hanging out in a dorm, eating lunch at the cafeteria, etc. were excellent and extremely helpful. This was our third trip (open house, individual tour, and student for a day). Every time has been consistently wonderful. Next...acceptance day in March! :D/
