4 AP classes as a freshman??

So currently I’m in AP Human Geo, AP Psych, AP Bio and AP Micro
I’m considering dropping AP Micro but what do you guys think?
In addition all my classes except for 1 are honors or AP

How can you take AP Bio? It’s a second-year bio course, otherwise, it would be manageable if you are hardworking and born with intelligence xD, I’m taking 2 APs for Freshman, World Histroy and Human Geograohy

That’s so cool your school lets you take Ap classes as a freshman! At my school the earliest you can take an Ap class is sophomore year and you only have one option(Ap World). If you try your hardest, you will succeed.

Are you taking all the other required courses like English, Foreign Language, Math, etc. Those AP’s (except for Bio) look more like electives rather than core courses required for a normal HS curriculum or college admission requirements. If you’re taking English, Math, FL plus those APs , that seems like a heavy courseload unless you’re a intellectual monster.

IMHO taking 4 APs as a high school freshman is way too much. I am hoping that I am misunderstanding the original post.

First, you need to have core classes:
English (= 9H?)
Math =?
Social science (= AP Human Geography)
Science
Foreign language
Art/elective

Can you complete the above?

AP Bio typically requires honors bio and honors chemistry, have you taken those classes? How common is it for freshmen to take that class?
My advice would be to keep AP Human Geography and either AP Psych or AP micro, and make sure you have all your core classes.
Remember what Stanford said: it’s not a game of who has the most AP’s, wins.

AP Human Geo is very easy and easy to get a 4 or 5 on the exam. AP psych is also easy but a lot of memorization and reading and the same goes for AP Bio ( if you do not have an interest in BIo then don’t take AP Bio)

NO! I would just stick with one AP (probably Human Geography) for now. As a freshman, the last thing you want is 4 APs-- that’s a recipe for disaster.YOU WILL BE OVERWHELMED. Not to mention your freshman year should really be about trying to knock out some mandatory classes, such as English, Math, Science. You don’t want to be stuck taking English 1 in 12th grade. Accumulate the necessary tips and tricks while taking 1 AP and then go nuts.

it is possible that HS freshman take college math - Cal 3 in flagship State U. I know student finished Cal AB & BC in middle school. They actually walked to HS , block from MS during school day. May be OP took honor Chem during MS. By all means go for it. The only thing I worry is OP has to post and ask Qs. That’s means he might not know what he is doing and it can be disaster. Now after a year, @sg0420 can share his decision and outcome.

You should be using freshman year to become involved in something at school as well. Create a good balance between rigorous academics and extracurricular involvement.

This thread is almost a year old. OP’s freshman year is coming to a close.

I didn’t even notice! Wonder how it turned out.

and OP only had 1 post in a year, he must have been swamped by 4 AP classes.

Many schools do not allow freshmen to take APs because freshmen are just adjusting to high school life, and APs are supposed to give you a taste of college level work. I would not skip straight from middle school to AP, and if you do, I definitely wouldn’t take more than 1-2 unless APs are known for being very lax at your school.

If you insist on taking this kind of schedule, please at least meet with counselor/teachers first to make sure it is doable at your school. Might have been possible at the high school my sister attended, for example, but at mine, it would’ve made 99% of students completely miserable.
