Just wondering if there’s anything I can do to improve them
Freshman
- Pre AP Pre Calc
- Pre AP Bio
- Pre AP Human Geo
- Pre AP English 1
- French 2
- AP CS
- and then 2 classes my school requires for freshman, one english related and one history related, both weighted
Sophomore
- AP Calc BC
- Pre AP English 2
- AP World History
- Pre AP Chem
- Advanced Programming
- Pre AP French 3
- Art
- PE (getting these 2 out of the way so I'll have more chances to take APs when they're available as a jr/sr)
Question: Why are you taking French 2 both freshmen and sophomore year?
@raventhemage haha sorry, typo. Edited.
You seem to be all set then, I’m pretty sure Pre AP is the equivalent of honors for my school. You are taking the most rigorous classes, so you’ll be fine.
Two small things: What is Pre-AP Human Geo? Is that supposed to be a toned down version of AP Human Geo? and is there a more advanced version of French 2?
Are you sure you’re not taking straight AP Human geography?
@MYOS1634 Yeah, my school only has Pre AP unfortunately. @raventhemage thanks! No honors for french 2 unfortunately
Hmm that’s strange, because AP Human geography tends to be a 'gateway to AP’s class, to prepare freshmen (or sophomores) for the rigors of AP classes.
Maybe they labeled it as pre-AP because it’s easier than most AP classes?? Idk it is strange.
Taking “pre-AP” human geo seems pretty redundant to me. The AP class is considered pretty easy in itself.
They might also have put it as pre-AP so that they wouldn’t have to abide to the AP curriculum.
I think a lot of schools are now offering “Pre-AP” Human Geography due to many freshmen struggling with the course.
You can read more about it here: https://www.totalregistration.net/AP-Exam-Registration-Service/2017-AP-Exam-Score-Distributions.php Look under the AP Human Geo scores for this year and it is explained. I have never taken the course thus have no opinion but thought some of you may find it of interest!

Yeah, I know it’s strange. I think it’s a qualifications issue and they don’t have another teacher qualified to teach AP Human Geo. I’ll probably end up studying for and taking the AP test anyways
