4 APs vs. 3 APs

Well, I have a huuuuge problem and I need to sort it out ASAP because tomorrow is the last day of school (woooot!) and they finalize schedules for next year in the summer. I'm currently signed up for (and they all fit nicely in my schedule)

AP English (1)
AP Calc AB (1)
AP French (1)
AP Enviromental Sci (1)
Psychology
Portfolio (very intensive art class) (1)
Electronic Engineering (w/ physics) (1)
. . .

All the (1) are classes I have either ONLY semester one or throughout the year. Now, I'm not the most hardworking student ever. I always somehow manage to pull decent grades through last minute efforts, haha. This year I took 2 AP classes, honors physics (which is harder then our AP class, rumoured - at least 2 hours hw/day), and an english course with TONS of homework as well (& french. with decent amounts of hw) AND I felt totally overwhemled but all of it... some nights I got 2 hours of sleep. Probably due to procrastination, but eh.

I'm thinking of dropping AP Enviormental Science because I'm not excessively interested in it (I want to go premed, and I've taking every other science course at my school but AP Physics, but only because I hate physics with a passion)... but in it's place, I'd have to pick up another "elective"-like science course (Bioethics, I'm thinking. Which is kinda investigating medical disease...?) and have an empty half-block...

does this seem like a good plan? Is there a VAST difference when applying with one less AP class (and taking ELECTIVES instead?) ... would I totally regret it? :( and finally would I be really overwhemled with 4 APs instead of 3...

Well, in my school, Environmental AP is pretty much the easiest AP course available, so I'd just keep it. I doubt it would be that much extra work. What do people say about it in your school? Weigh that against the workload of whatever elective you might take

I'm taking 4 APs next year too: Calc AB, Italian, European History, and Environmental

I've heard AP Enviromental isn't bad (atleast compared to AP Chem, which I took this year and was a killer) -- however, next year it's getting more difficult (along with AP French), apparently...

AP Environmental Science isn't most college's favorite AP or even close to it anyways. And many won't accept credit for it, so it would seem more worthwhile to take an elective if you find the elective class way more interesting.

I know most people will say to just take what you want to take, but I've found that isn't helpful (I want to get into Columbia, and I'll take whatever classes I need to so I do get in...lol).

Anyway, if you think you'd like bioethics, take it. If a college knows you want to go premed, they'll understand why you chose a regular class like bioethics over an AP that has nothing to do with your field of interest.

Allright, thanks :) I think I'm taking Bioethics or Anatomy instead. I read over the AP Env textbook, and it doesn't interest me at ALL, haha

thanks for all your input!

And btw, I laugh... my schol got out may 26. yay the bible belt.
