Here is a bit about my self: International, Asian, Male. There is only less than 4 hours to my Rice University Skype Interview. An alumina has set up the interview at TX time 11:00am, which is 1:00am here (Yes, it’s in China).
Just 18 hours ago I was rejected by Georgia Tech, one of my dream school.
Just 25 days ago I was rejected by Cornell, my dream school.
Now I am sitting in front of my lap top, nervously wondering what my interviewer is going to ask.
Today in China is cold. It’s cloudy and rainy.
I feel a little upset. I know to some it’s hard to accept the fact that International Students are involved in the competition for the U.S. college education, but we are trying much, much harder.
Wish this interview to be successful.
Good luck, and do not think about your rejections for one second. The vast majority of people will be rejected to some of the colleges they apply to. Be yourself, be natural. The interview does not decide your admission. Colleges want to admit people they like, so be friendly. Rice is a great college, hope you get in. Obviously you haven’t visited, so ask questions. What is the campus like? Describe a Rice student. What are some of the more popular activities? What are the popular clubs? This is your chance to find out something about the college that you can’t find out just from the Internet. Now relax and smile.
Also, your interviewer wants you to ask questions. They will not just ask you a bunch of stuff and say goodbye. Ask your interviewer why they chose Rice? That will give you insight to the college.
Thanks! I appreciate your kind response!
Hey, international student here. Our feelings are mutual.
How was your interview though? What did they ask?
I hope it went well. Good luck to you!
This interview was a year ago, poster never updated, last post was March with no new info. He has left the building as they say…
Thanks! Did not notice the date on the post.
