4 science classes in one year??

Hey everyone. I’m a freshman. I might be taking 4 science classes next year and I wanted your opinion on the matter.

10 11 12

Eng 10H AP Comp AP Lit

Chem 10H Bio HL AP Chem

AP Stats AP Calc BC Need to find a math class

AP Java Comp Prog. 2* AP Econ + Gov

AP Bio APUSH AP Human Geography

Anatomy and Physiology AP Physics 1 AP Physics 2

Latin 2 Latin 3 Latin 4

I’m thinking that’s it’s not such a good idea to squeeze two Social Studies classes into one year(12), with only 2 science classes. If I switched A&P with APHG, then it would like:

10 11 12

Eng 10H AP Comp AP Lit

Chem 10H Bio HL AP Chem

AP Stats AP Calc BC Need to find a math class

AP Java Comp Prog. 2* AP Econ + Gov

AP Bio APUSH Anatomy and Physiology
AP Human Geography AP Physics 1 AP Physics 2

Latin 2 Latin 3 Latin 4

I feel like this would look better, but I think that A&P would really help with USABO, which I’m going to invest a lot of my time into next year. Do you guys think that Colleges will care if I take 4 science classes in a year, with only 2 senior year?

If you guys need to see the classes I’m taking right now I can put that up too.

*Comp Prog. 2 might not be offered in my 11 grade year, the teacher teaching it might be about to retire(she’s says it’s a maybe right now)

4 science classes in 1 year is a recipe for bad grades.
what is the rush?
What math class are you taking now?
Save the Anatomy and Physiology for your SR year.
Skip AP Stats, at least for now- its an “easy AP” that wont help you. take it Sr year if you cant find another math class then.
there will be other non AP classes your Sr year that you can take.

@menloparkmom
I’m taking AP Calc AB right now. They are offering AP Calc BC at my school for the first time next year. That’s why I’m waiting until junior year to take it, I don’t want to do bad on the AP exam, in the off chance that the teacher, who is teaching for the first time, doesn’t cover all the needed material. I would Skip AP Stats but I wouldn’t have anymore math classes. The school is working on setting a online Multivariable Calc Class up for me since I’m the only student that has skipped 2 math classes and they don’t have anymore classes.

OK. but any more than 2 science classes in one year is just asking for trouble.
there is absolutely no truth to the thinking that too many kids believe-
“the students with the most AP’s win”
This is what Stanford says:

"We want to be clear that this is not a case of “whoever has the most APs wins.”

follow what they suggest as far as the classes and subjects, do well in class, participate in outside activities that genuinely interest you, and you will do fine. Burn out early because you took too many difficult classes per year in a faulty attempt to “impress” someone and you wont do so well.
