4 students from my school got 2400

I'm a Sophomore and 4 Juniors from my school got a 2400 on the new SAT I administered in March.

Does this help me by giving my school prestige? I'm just wondering, that's all.

Wow, what school is that? lol... I had the highest SAT score at my school in a while with my 1470 sheesh... must be an awesome school

San Marino High School in San Marino, CA

(It's a public High School)

There is at least one at my school...but possibly up to three since the other two are "rumors"...not saying the school though. :)

Well, I know that there are 4 from my school since they were featured on K-ABC7, Fox News Channel, and the Los Angeles Times

And I see you're from Southern California, also ...

I heard that there were 24 2400s in CA and 107 nationwide.

It doesn't give a school prestige if students get perfect scores on the SAT. An applicant's SAT score is used in the application process but there are other factors to consider as well, including GPA, AP scores, awards, essays, and recommendations. For a school, excelling in a sport, excelling in academics, excelling in an extra curricular field may all bring prestige - but I doubt having perfect SAT scorers will bring prestige (many high schools have perfect SAT scorers).

wow man.... 4 2400s tells a lot about that shool...

ya'll wont believe this but its true: my high school valedictorean has a ACT score of 17 which is like a 890? SAT.....

so that tells how dumb my high school is.... btw its in Mississippi

thats one of the reasons why the state nmsqt cutoff is 203.

where is the valedictorian going? I really do find a 17 hard to believe. I would place a sure bet that no one in my school scored that low.

a community college.....lmao

and the only scholarship she got is $1000 valedictorean scholarship

what year are you?

Woah, a 17? That is crazy... :-/.

I'm not sure if the highest SAT score at our school broke 2300 even :-/. Although there was a kid who got like 238 on the PSATs, and 2 kids who got a perfects on the old SAT. But thats about as far as we've gotten x_x.

I'm pretty sure someone in our grade is going to get a 2400 next yr though, when we did the talent search thing in 7th grade, one kid scored like a 1480 and another scored a 1500 :/, I remember I was pretty proud of my 1300, until I saw their scores x_x.

4x2400's is intense! Are they all friends and did prep together?

No, they're not friends, but they're all Asian.

Then again, about 65% of my school is Asian ...

1150 students, Junior class is about 270

One of the students took the January 2005 test (the last 1600 test) and got a perfect score on that, too.

I'd scan the newspaper article, but my scanner is acting weird

the highest SAT score in my school is 1450 and highest ACT is 34.

and my school only had 1 national merit semi-finalist this year (who turned into a finalist.)

kids in my school are really dumb. Average ACT score for the freshman class would be around 12. Sophomore= 14 Junior=15 Senior=16-17

pretty bad eh?? and i think it wont be hard for me to become the STAR student because i already have a 25 ACT and am a freshman.

1450 on 2400 or 1600 version?

hahahah... on 2400 man...use your head

who really knows after your val. got a 17... haha

Hey, I was talking to someone a few weeks ago (she was a Teach for America woman) who said the valedictorian at her school got a 9 on the ACT. Not a 19. A NINE! Composite!

And, to top it off, the kid had A's in her AP class. You gotta love the South.

yeah...i am a senior at San Marino. Pretty amazed at 4 2400s...

o my god...a 9 on ACT composite...???r u kidding me?
man...

i bet that person can get into all the ivy leagues if he like...MIT, harvard..?
he is probably goingto be the first one accepted (lmao).HAHAHAHH

Well yes thats onbe of the charcteristics of our South...
