4 years of a language?

I'm going to be a senior next year (yes!) and the time to select classes has come around again.

My school offers the option of taking a language senior year or not. I'm in the Spanish sequence, and will finish AP Spanish Language this year. Next year, I'd be in line for AP Spanish Literature, which is a class I'd be OK with taking.

If I don't take spanish lit, I get to take AP Government, which I'm slightly more inclined to take. I'd be alright with either, though.

So, I wonder if my college application would get a boost with that fourth year of Spanish lit. I'm planning on applying to competitive schools, and I've already shown aptitude in history (AP world, US, macro/micro). So, should I go for AP Spanish because it'll help out my application, or AP Gov, because taking another year of spanish wouldn't help and AP gov would be a more pleasant class?

Well, AP languages are much harder than AP govt, so I suppose AP Spanish would look better.
But if you are going to major in something political, AP govt will make you look much more umm, passionate/focused

nah pointless. i knjow people who have gotten into great universities with only 2 years.
