Hi,

I’m signing up for 48 hours and I’m not sure if I should go on a weekend in November of February. Is there any advantage to going in one month over the other? Like is November better because we are still adjusting to college life?

Hi,

I’m signing up for 48 hours and I’m not sure if I should go on a weekend in November of February. Is there any advantage to going in one month over the other? Like is November better because we are still adjusting to college life?

I think you could make a case for both. November is good because you are still adjusting and you can still have a chance to meet people. People are still in the adjustment phase. You will know less people so more people seem new. February is a little different because people are more established with their friends and don’t really branch out too much. But in February, you have been at BC longer, so you have more of a perspective on how your year is going because it is half way through. You have experienced a lot more and I think you will be able to reflect on your experinces more. In November you are still getting used to everything.
I went in February and I loved it. It is also good because a lot of people talked about how their winter break was either good or bad to help their transition. Either one is fine, but I loved going in February.

Dear BCeagle92 : Given the choice, choose February. In November, you will be in week ten or so of your first semester. You will be pressing on papers and tests before Thanksgiving and likely be running out of time in many efforts. In Ferbuary, you will be in week five or so of your second semester which might see you with more perceived free time although first exams are right around that point.

I would also recommend February, because if you are having a hard time re-adjusting after your month long break at home, it’s nice to come back and talk about it at 48 Hours with others who feel the same way.

thank you for the advice! im def gonna go with february if i can

Definitely go in February. You will have more to talk about and I think having winter break before you go helps out a lot. SO much is going on in your life first semester that 48 hours would be tough to make really meaningful. That said, I know people who went then and loved it. Either way, GO ON 48 HOURS. One of my favorite experiences at BC, and all the retreats here are phenomenal and worth your time.
