Last week I booked a flight with my parents to go visit Boston from February 1st to 4th to visit Boston College. However, I made a horrible mistake and forgot to check if information and visit sessions were available for the 4th, and they aren’t! My flight and hotel are also non-refundable. I am upset at myself and am worried that I won’t be able to get a feel for the future while there. Any advice? Should I call admissions and ask them about things to do around this time? HELP would be appreciated, Thanks!

If they are in session, you can ask if you can meet briefly with admissions, see if you can sit in on a class, or if they will have material for a walking tour on your own.

You can try asking them if they have any day visits available. You shadow a student for a few hours that day. You go to a class, they take you on a tour, and you can ask them any questions you have. It gives much better insight into life at bc than an info session because they will give you the full picture about life, not just the good parts, and you’ll meet students.

BC is a very friendly environment. I’m sure they can make some accommodations. I would try to sit in on a class. The info sessions aren’t always that useful, because the same info can be obtained from the website, and you can tour the campus on your own. Plus, if you’re not from a cold weather place, then going to Boston at that time will really give you a feel for the weather. I really wouldn’t worry at all. I’m sure someone from the admissions office would be able to meet with you. good luck.

you might be able to pay a change fee of $150 to the airlines to change to a different date.

Our DD, currently a sophomore at BC suggested you look at the Student Admissions Program website ([Student Admission Program - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/clubs/sap/)). They have information on self guided tours and some contact info.
