-5 Degrees This Morning in South Bend

Welcome to Northern Indiana winters! You CCers from the balmy south and west may want to buy a set of Long Johns before heading to Notre Dame; the high today is forecast to be 3 above zero, with wind chills in the -20 to -25 degree range. At least they lifted yeserday's Blizzard Warning. :)

Stay Warm!

I'm hoping all of the dorms are cozy and warm. Talked to son yesterday afternoon--said he was running to dining hall to eat and then come back to the dorm. Too cold to do anything else!! Wonder if, on average, this semester's grades are generally better for students? Especially when it is too cold/snowy to do anything else?

Thanks for weather report Rad- I actually checked the forecast early this morning to see how bad it was there, after hearing the 25 below wind chills in Chicago.

Also, checked the web cam and there looks to be about 8 inches of snow on the ground, too.
Maybe the blurry figure I saw going across South Quad, was NotreDameAl's son, running from Morrissey to Dining hall :)

The snow total, honestly, is closer to 16 inches. It has been snowing quite a bit! It isn't bad though. Also, yes grades are always higher in the second semester but I attribute it far more to the lack of football!

Absolutely frigid. Cannot wait for spring...

Well, we do have more time to do homework. But, when it gets this cold, walking to class is much less appealing as well. Especially walking down the South Quad wind tunnel. :)

I give up on fashion. I've been wearing snow pants, sweats, and boots everywhere.

I am not convinced that being locked up in a dorm for hours on end due to weather will necessarily contribute to better grades. I am sure, however, that my daughter's guitar-playing skills would increase exponentially.

ughhh i wish i was there.....

it was like 80 degrees here in Phoenix today

hah simply lovely..i'll be there in 2 weeks! (i'll do my best to ignore the cold)

oh man it was cold!! i was up in south bend visiting a certain irish hopeful someone and it was absolutely frigid

i live on the same latitude as ND but by a lake! windchill of about -18 right now, no school tomorrow!

the library was closed because of flooding and water damage (as a result of burst pipes and such) - so as you can see, the weather also prevents us from studying in the library. our rooms offer many distractions.

even though the weather is pretty cold, it's really not that bad. you may not get used to it, and of course you'll hate it, but you'll survive.
