5 Majors?! or 6?

Hey everyone here's my senior year courseload:

AP Statistics
AP Government
AP British Literature
AP Biology
AP German V

Now I'm torn between whether to take a 6th major (AP Environmental Science) or not. If I did take a 6th major, I worry about whether or not ill be able to maintain straight As with the additional work. On the other hand, my counselor told me that taking only 5 majors senior year would severely impair my chances of getting into top notch universities.

Is it worth the risk, and would it affect my chances that much?

...German V isn't AP...

i hope u realize that u and I don't go to the same school, that's its name at my school whether its simply AP german in reality is unknown to me

That's a lie.

Yeah...I only took 4 academic classes at my school (plus one online) and an elective, and got into my first choice. You'll be fine. You don't HAVE to be an overachiever to get in :-)

it just helps ;)

5 ap's is enough tho

and they are called AP's
not Majors

all i can say is you're gonna cry 2nd semester. everyone will be partaying and you gotta study all day.

sandyrun probably intended to say that majors meant hard academic classes. Anyway SandyRun... five ap's is more than enough, seriously, unless you are seriously not being challenged at school.

well i dunno I'm taking 3 AP's and 3 honors this year

Plus, some of these AP's are on the lighter side (at least for my school)

Easy:
AP Statistics
AP German V
AP Envi. Sci.

Intermediate:
AP Brit. Lit.
AP Biology

Hard:
AP Government

And about the partying, i party a lot as is, and im sure 2nd semester will be even better considering i can slack off a bit

When I was in school as a senior, I was working my ass off to have a shot at good schools... I never stopped trying that year and fortunately it paid off. If I were a straight A kid however, I guess I could live a little.

yeah i second dirtysocks...think about second semester. Your motivation is going to be dismally low, and low motivation + 6 APs = disaster

Is there really an AP Brit. Lit.? I certainly wasn't aware of it...

The average person at MIT takes 4-5 APs in their entire high school career. Don't stress yourself, but Environmental Science is one of the pseudo-APs so I doubt you'll have a problem with it.

yea thats what i was thinking. but wait i thought it was ok to get Bs and Cs second semester. am i wrong?

I've never heard of AP brit lit. There is no AP test for it, just European history and English Literature.

yea but thats the name of the class, but English= British, so English Literature= British Literature.

Also does anyone have an answer for my previous post?

i think that British would imply only British, while English implies both British and American.

Yeah, if you're studying only British lit in AP lit, you're screwed for the AP test.

*** u got weird ass names for aps

ap british lit = ap lit?

good luck with that, id suggest one easy or fun or interest class senior year
unless ur school weighs aps differently, and u want to improve ur rank

TAKE IT!!! if you fail, what are the consequences, but if you succeed you will never question if you coulda shoulda woulda
