when i applied i haphazardly chose all 6 choices of the colleges at ucsd in no particular order. I did this because the deadline was approaching fast for UC applications. I regret doing so, because I found out recently that sixth college, my first choice, doesnt have volunteer organizations, and is pretty far away from the coast. also it doesnt have a cafeteria.

how do i change the college i go to? 2. and if im stuck, is it possible to like go to the cafeterias and 3. volunteer organizations etc. of other schools such as revelle?

btw, chance me also.
i received a 1900 on the sat
700 math, 610 reading, 590 writing
740 math 2c, 3.59 gpa, senior council, staff writer for newspaper

Your GPA is a bit low for UCSD, I think the average is like a 3.8 and I think SATs are fine.

I'd say you have a pretty good shot, but I'm only an applicant as well. But your activities are pretty appealing.

Good Luck!

i heard you cant change your colleges until your second year... but i think if you go here... youll end up liking your college... most people do
=)
and im sure other college groups dont mind having other colleges join as members... its not that exclusive...

dasherwinator: I am pretty sure 6th has a cafeteria (it's called Foodworkx or something that has a funky spelling like that) just like all other colleges have their own cafeteria. YOU CAN GO TO ANY CAFETERIA YOU WANT, there are no restrictions...i usually go to revelle, muir, marshall cafeterias cus my classes are near those areas. i have never been over to erc (although i probably will next qtr), warren, 6th cafeterias.

I am pretty sure you are "stuck" in your college. it is pretty hard to change and if you want to..you have to finish all your college's prereqs or something and the college u want to transfer to needs to want to accept you. bottom line is that its pretty difficult, and most ppl are happy where they are anyway.

I am not aware that colleges have their own volunteering orgs, but there are student orgs that are specific to their own colleges (for revelle, they have their own newsletter, bible study group, etc). Most of the student orgs ppl know about are open to all ucsd students. there are a whole bunch of vlntr orgs...red cross, habitat for humanity, etc that you can check out.

Thanks alot, you guys have been very helpful.
