60 units "by the time you matriculate"

I asked this on my other thread of questions, but no one replied, so it gets its very own thread! :)

Can you say on your application that you plan to take summer classes the summer before the fall you're admitted to?

I'm having a difficult time getting into classes for this summer, but would they not even consider my application if I have 2 quarters at UCLA and a year (plus planned summer classes) at a CC?

You need to have 60 units by the end of Spring semester.

*for the most part. Very few students are admitted as sophomores. I wouldn’t bother applying unless you will have 60 by then though.

The only UC to offer any slack on the 60 unit requirement is UCR, UCSC may if you have a very good reason, but thats the exception, not the rule .
Just do alot of units this summer , and go 15 units next fall too. But not having that many units done right now, and saying " I’ll totally get 40 done in 3 semesters YEAH" doesn’t look good to admissions . Plus you might not have your pre-reqs done on time .

If it wasn’t for the budget cuts you could just transfer spring after next . I planned to do that, but then the campus I contacted said they cut spring admission , check on winter too though, I didn’t check for winter admission and I ended up more or less wasting a year of my life since a few campuses had it .

My situations a little different then most, but it would of been so much easier for me to transfer last winter or spring . Oh well…
