I don't get the 60 transferable units?

Hey guys, I already applied to four UCs and am waiting to hear back. So far I've got 40 "transferable" units and I put my remaining 20 as "planned" on my app (I am assuming other Ccc's follow a similar 60 units). 20 a kind of a lot so I split it up with my remaining spring and summer semesters. Here's the catch though: there might not even be a summer semester at my community college! I'm pretty sure there is BUT I've got a feeling the classes being offered are pretty limited.

So anyway, I'm prepared to take all 20 this semester but that would really suck. What if I am let's say 4 short by the end of the spring? Let's assume worst case that there's no summer classes being offered; would I be turned away for failure to complete all 60 units (of transferable credit)? I have completed IGETC and have a really good GPA so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

I thought that you needed 60 units by the end of the spring semester. You might want to check that they even accept units from the summer before your planned enrollment.

Yes, you need 60 units by the end of the semester that precedes the first semester of attendance, so basically you need 60 units or more by the end of the Spring semester

You have to have 60 completed units by the end of spring. If you take classes in the summer they can be transferable, but they don’t count towards your 60. If you don’t have 60 units by the end of spring, then you won’t be accepted into any UC or Cal State school.

Okay, well I guess I better buckle down this semester and get those 20 knocked out. Am I going to be turned down for putting some of those 4 units as “planned” for the summer on my application? Why would they include such a section to be filled in on the app if they don’t even accept the classes? I did tons of research and preparation for this whole igetc/application process but I guess I made an honest mistake here? Is there a way to change this?

^ yes you would be turned down. You can still change your TAU.

You have to make sure the UCs you applied to take summer courses. I don’t think any of them do.

Okay thanks guys. I updated my application to put all of my remaining 20 units as planned for the spring.
