"Of the 120 units total needed to graduate, students must complete 60 L & S units."

Once I finish all my major's requirements and add up my breadth units, I'm only at 55 Letters and Science units. Do courses I take at community college fulfill the Letters and Science units? For example, I plan on taking Spanish and Math at a CC, two subjects that are housed within the College of Letters and Science at UC Berkeley. If those units count toward the L&S requirement, I'd be pushed over the minimum of 60. Does anyone know if community college units can be applied to the L&S requirement? Thank you!

Thanks, montnix. bump!

You can ask L&S directly for the answer to this question. I would guess that the likely answer is that the CC courses that articulate to courses in L&S departments would count, but you should get the answer directly from L&S.

How did you manage to take over half of your units outside Letters and Science?

I think they do count. I’m planning to take a semester off to go to a CC to fulfill some major requirements. Assist.org tells you which courses count and don’t. I would check with L&S to make sure though. If you ever want to take a 5 unit class here at Berkeley to get 5 more units though, I recommend Japanese :)

Thanks for the info, everyone.
