620 on Biology-E = Bad or Neutral?

In Freshman year, I took regular Biology. My mom heard that it was good to take Subject Tests after a course, so I had to take the Biology SAT. I had no idea which one to pick, so I just picked Biology-E.

Being a rather stupid and inexperienced freshman, I barely studied and used most of my time...hanging out with friends. Haha. Oops.

So I ended up with a 620. I'm applying to UCs, and they require all test scores. This might be a stupid question, and I SHOULD know the answer to this question by now, but I don't. Can someone tell me how a 620 on Biology-E affects my transcript? Thank you!

Are you a rising senior and will graduate in 2012? If so, starting for next year’s class, class of 2012, UCs don’t require Subject Test Scores, so it shouldn’t affect you too much. But I don’t know much about that even though I should so someone else should have better advice.

Anyway, the Subject Tests generally cover like college material, regular courses don’t really help prepare you for the tests unless you self-study rigorously.

Also, Bio-E = Ecological and Bio-M = Molecular.

In the future, this should be an incentive for you to realize that you need to learn how the test works!

thats horrible

@Hovito Well that’s rude.

Why don’t you consider retaking if it bugs you so much? If you could get that up to a 700+ it would look much better. If you have the time that might be the best course of action.

@Techhexium: Yup, I’m graduating in 2012. And it already has been an incentive for me xD’ I’ve done quite well in my Biology-M SAT. The most I know about UCs and Subject Test Scores though is that UC Davis only considers scores that are beneficial. That’s kind of a good thing because UC Davis is my first choice, but I wish I knew the policies for other colleges in California.

@Hovito: It is! D: It’s not even a 670 yet!

@jhkmyun: I suppose I could retake it. It wouldn’t really bug me until I was actually told a definite, “Yes, it looks very bad on your transcript.”

Thanks for replying everyone! Even you, Hovito :P;;
