SAT Subject Test; Bio

I was planning to take the Biology Subject Test this year even though I am in a Biology Regents class...I purchased the kaplan book and have been studying that independently. However, I did not know that the SATII material was so different from what I am doing in class until after I registered; the kaplan book contains so many more details then that of the regents test. Should I still prepare to take the test this June? I'm not exactly sure of the policies, so any advice would be helpful.

I also took Regents Bio and took the SATII the same year and did horrendous. :( There's a lot to learn; my BIO teacher who graduated from Cornell was suprised by the level of BIO they want you to know.

As a side note, for Regents take Ecology.

My school only offers IB/AP Bio in 12th grade so it will be too late to take the SATII again.

Gexxman...heres a few questions for you!
- Were you studying from an SATII book also?
- If I do really bad on the exam...is there any way to hide the score from colleges?
- The E has about ecology and evolution, and M is all about cells, right? Im not really sure and the Kaplan book doesn't specify...
Thanks so much!

yeah ive got a perfect score on every bio thing there is out there...except USABO...shucks. but yeah just dont do badly on the exam and you wont have to worry about hiding it. M has more lab stuff, and of course more questions on DNA and genetics and cells. E is a really fun test though, i loved it.

Biomaster...if I knew I was going to do well on it, then I wouldnt be posting here, eh? One question....did you take an honors course pre-test? thanks

I took regents bio and got a 700 on the exam straight from the class without any extra preparation. You should be able to do alright with just a regents bio class.
