whoops @Cayton there

@music1990‌

lol, school doesn’t even really start until October 2nd. We’re starting class instruction really late this year. Normally, it’d start in the last week of September or something.

I’m pretty excited too, but I bet I’ll get even more so and perhaps even anxious as the end of September approaches.

From what I hear, the social scene at Berkeley is alright. It certainly isn’t dead as it is at UC San Diego(Its nickname is UC Socially Dead, lol), so I think you’ll be fine if you want to socialize at Cal. But the social scene definitely isn’t lacking at UCLA. :stuck_out_tongue: In any case, you shouldn’t be jealous of UCLA.

I’m not the kind of person who parties a lot. I hate being at large social gatherings because I’m so introverted. Still, I chose to dorm because I wanted to socialize and have new experiences. But for me, there is such a thing as too much socializing.

What classes are you going to take at Cal this semester?

@Cayton‌

Really, you’re introverted? That’s a surprise to me (and probably everyone else on CC). Once again I misjudge you, lol. I’m not like super social either, but after being a little isolated the past two years while in community college, I kind of want to break out a little bit.

I’m taking music theory and English literature classes, and a 1 unit class for transfer students to learn about resources. I actually decided to major in English and minor in music, instead of majoring in music as I had originally intended. What classes are you taking?

@music1990‌

lol, I’m full of surprises. ;)

Interesting that you’ll be studying English at Berkeley. Lucky for you that switching majors is really easy over there and that Berkeley is #1 in the country for English, eh?

I’m taking ancient Greek philosophy(A class all UCLA philosophy majors have to take. Lecture hall class, too, ugh), upper division normative ethics, and ancient greek history as an elective.

Needless to say, I will be learning a lot about Ancient Greece this quarter, lol

There’s a strong social scene at Berkeley, it’s just set up differently than UCLA. I think you’re going to love it @music1990. And there’s so many cultural options across the board.

Welcome to Wheeler!!!

BTW, my daughter decided to minor in music history.
