I have many questions about the topics of 6th college, poli sci/law and theater.

I've seen many things about 6th college on these forums, but not much info from students who actually live there. Can 6th college-ers describe their experience with 6th (dorm quality, social aspect, food, etc.)?

I have been admitted as a poli sci major, but i was wondering if anybody had some information about minoring and/or double majoring. I either want to minor in theater or double major in poli sci and theater. Is that possible? Will it be hard? Is that even smart? Will I be able to act in plays if I'm not a minor or major in theater?

If I have anymore questions I'll post later. Thank you to everyone in advance who is nice enough to answer my questions and help me out :D I can't wait for college!!!

I’m from Muir so I don’t know much about Sixth other than that you guys live in little townhouses where each floor shares a living room area. Most of the Sixth people I know ended up becoming really good friends with their housemates, so that’s always a good thing. I personally don’t like [Foodworx (Sixth Dining Store)](http://hds.ucsd.edu/diningservices/menu/MenuDisplay.aspx?FacilityID=11) but other people who go there more often might have more to say.

Political Science as a major really isn’t all that hard, provided you stay up-to-date on readings and choose the right classes/teachers. Just make sure you plan ahead so you can get all your upper division classes done when you want them. It helps if you have clearances from AP Government tests so you can clear Poli 10/11. That way, the major will really only require you to take 13 classes (Poli 30 and the 12 Upper Divisions).

I don’t know much about the Theatre program, but if you decide to double major, it’ll allow you to raise your maximum unit allowance so you can stay more time to finish it all up if you need to. I would start out in Political Science and talk to Theatre advisers and take some intro classes to see how you like it first. Good luck!

Keep in mind the readings run an average of around 150 pages per week.

For lower division, you don’t really have much of a choice in professors because there’s typically one professor teaching one lower div course, instead of three for one like the chem classes.

Thank you so much. I keep hearing that the food at Foodworx isn’t that great. Lol. You spoke about picking the right classes/teachers. Do you have any recommendations? In addition to taking AP Gov this semester (which I’m pretty sure I’m going to get a 5 on), I also passed my AP U.S. and AP Euro tests. Do you know if these will count for any prerequisites or GE credits? I’m already involved with theater now (president of the drama department at my high school) and I would love to continue doing it, but I don’t want to end up going in that direction as a career path. I was more wondering about if double majoring or minoring in it would be beneficial in getting into law school or give me an edge as a lawyer in the future. Also, theater has been a big part of my life and I don’t want to give it up completely, so would I be able to act at UCSD without majoring or minoring in theater?

Law schools don’t care one bit if you major, double major, or minor. Further, they do not care what subject you major in. What matters is that you are in a major that you love so you care about the material and thus end up with a higher GPA.
