all of them are highly competitive. I’d say you’d probably get in at least 2 or 3 out of your list. for bs md. make sure to interview well and write well. but still I might make sure to have some safeties. (you may have them but didn’t post them).
I know for a fact brown is 8 years not 7, but not sure about some of the others so you might want to double check that if its a deciding factor for you.
I think… accelerated med programs wise, your stats are fine, but at competitive ones, like brown, everyone has amazing gpa’s and test scores…
it really depends on the essays and interviews. all the people I know who got accepted into these kinds of programs are people who genuinely care about patients and were able to show it in their essays and interviews.
I thought the Rutgers program allowed applications only after the first 2 years of undergrad. I didn’t realize you could apply from high school. When did this change?
@sgopal2 there are two programs at Rutgers, one is the 7 year program for highschool students at the Newark campus, the other is available to premed sophomores at the New Brunswick campus I believe
“people who genuinely care about patients and were able to show it in their essays and interviews.” Yup.
The more competitive the college and it’s 7 or 8 year program, the more they look for your actual experience in the medical setting, working with people, how that compassion you “claim” is shown in what you have done. Not just being in the hospital environment or the lab or visiting a nursing home once in a while. Not just shadowing or starting a pre-med club. Not just stats.
