Hi, I got a 770 on the math section of the SAT I but when I looked at my score report, it said I only got one question incorrect. Is a 770 too low for only missing one q?

It's pretty harsh, but I doubt it's a mistake. You almost always drop from 800 by missing anything in math (unlike CR)...perhaps that far. But I don't really know anyone who's missed exactly one, so I can't say whether this is a typical drop. But it doesn't seem out of the question.

Yes, the 770 is right. This kid from my school got the same score on the Nov. SAT Math. He also only got one wrong. Math had a harsh curve.

yeah, I had the same problem last test. I was pretty angry about the 770 after missing only question, but I naturally took it over and fortunately scored an 800. You should do the same if it's bothering you...

This sounds like a bit of (rooster) and bull to me (if you're referring to the Nov. Test, that is). The full score report won't be online for still some time. I finally garnered the courage to look at my score and was pleasantly surprised by a 770 . I definitely missed 2 questions.

Too bad you didn't take the october one, I got one wrong but got an 800.

It's all luck of the draw, it's not like I planned taking a test based on a predicted curve

That's why SAT scores aren't the only factors considered in admission.

i agree with perplex

Yeah, its right

first time, got a 770 in math after missing one. retook and got an 800

oh, i was pretti lucky, for the oct SAT, i got 1 wrong, buh still got 800

Took the SAT last October; missed 1 on the Math portion and resulted in a 770. ETS sould know we aren't machines and are bound to make a silly mistake here and there . A 1 mistake cushion should be the least we deserve for sitting 5 hours in class on a Saturday.

Another "one wrong- 770 on the Nov test" here. It is a harsh curve. But then why was this not true for the Oct test? Why wouldnt one wrong have been a 780 or 790? Anyone have the stats in front of them to explain?

One wrong - 770 here also for the Novemeber test.

It was an easy math section compared to previous ones, which is why the curve is harsher.

I got a 740 on mine =(

Man, that's harsh. I missed two on the January SAT and made a 780.

My friend got one wrong and skipped one and got a 730.

I'm pretty sure you're lying.

Me? How do you figure?

Because -2 raw never equals a 730?

Why is that not possible? Doesn't it matter on the day of the test?

I know he only got one wrong. Maybe he skipped two?
