790 in math II

hey guys, im asian (hence the username lol) and was elated to get a 770 on the math lvl 2  …but im hoping to apply early action to mit this fall, and i know how competitive the admissions process can be. im sure that with some more studying i can get 800, but i don’t want to seem like a perfectionist either, what do you think i should do?
o and also, the first time i took the sat 1 i got 2130 (700 math, 740 reading, 690 writing), then retook it and got 2160 (800 math, 690 reading, 670 writing). im thinking of retaking it a third time, since my scores seem to be on the low end for mit. do you think it is worth it?

this thread is ■■■■■■■■. keep the grade and be happy. Not a single school will reject you because you got a 790 on the Math SAT II.

finally, someone who gets it

Top schools really don’t want a bunch of test-taking, perfectionistic robots. They want human beings with strengths and weaknesses and room to grow.

Really.

BIG LAWLZ. Doesn’t that make it MET though?

I spoke with a guy who works in admissions at MIT and he told me flat out that all they really want to see is 740 and up. He also said that they really want to see at least a 30 on the ACT and they are pleased. It is more than test scores, people. That being said, I really hope I get two 800’s this fall in math 2 and bio. unfortunately Barons raped me on my diagnostic math 2 test.
