You're about a year ahead of the advanced curriculum, and two of the normal curriculum at my (public) highschool.

I took the PSAT 9th, 10th, and 11th grade.
I didn't take the SAT until the end of 11th and 12th grade. You can take it earlier if you're confident, but it's better if you take it 3 times or less.

O ok, im just starting to study vocab for Sat because there is so much even though im 4 years away from it.

Im using sparknotes .... 5-10 min each day

what was ur score on Sat??

***, studying for the SAT as a 7th grader?!?!? Lol, that's gonna help, maybe it's the key to a 2433. Come back when your voice deepens kid.

no point studying that early.

Enjoy your life when you can. once you get into high school, then start practicing, because believe me, after 9th grade you won't be able to enjoy anything even if you wanted to. Besides studying for the SAT can be done in one summer, no need for 4 years. I studied for 2 months and got a 2330. Don't sweat it.

Biggest advice: enjoy it while it lasts, because it will be over soon.

don't fret about as a 7th grader. Most people don'e even know what the SAT is in the 7th grader, much less care about. I just you start studying for it in 9th grade (your life is going to be a myriad of work, anyway)

Don't study for the SAT using vocab lists in 7th grade. It's way too early (unless you are taking them this year for a program like CTY). But there is one thing you can do to improve your chances. Read. Read read read read read. Reading a lot of medium to difficult material for the next 4 years will do far more to increase both your vocab and your performance on the CR SAT generally than any amount of studying vocab lists.

I second the above post

Ok, thanks for the advice

Yah i read like 3-5 books per month

Im reading Call of the Wild by Jack London

what did you guys score on SAT and when did you start studying

I'm a junior. Took the test in October. I started studying approximately... never. Heh heh. Got a 2310.

Seriously, just take the PSATs early in high school, take an online test a night or two before the actual exam, and you should do fine. Keep reading and all that.

Don't bother with the sparknotes; they won't do jack crap for you.

I started studying approximately... never lol

what colleges you apply for???

I agree with the last posters. Enjoy your life while it still lasts. I'm starting the IB next year, and from what I've heard, I will be completely deprived of a social life. You will appreciate our advice once you get into high school.

You seriously need to chill. Don't turn into these SAT/GPA/College obsessed cronies which most people on here are.

Tennisfreak23, you are lying about something. Here, you ask for advice...yet in this topic, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=264787

You claim you have those scores..

lol

Yah im kidding

if i took the Sat my total score would be like 1000-1200

yeah, probably sacrasm in the previous thread, rite? lol ;)

haha

yah

Do read a lot. Reading will help you gain vocabulary. As for vocab lists, start the summer before you head to high school.

Best advice for a 7th grader...

Relax in life. Finally, your happiness matters more than whether you go to Harvard or LSU.

If you're in 7th grade you can take the SAT if you're in Johns Hopkins' CTY, which offers it to 7th and 8th graders. I think it's well worth a try because you get a little sneak peek on what the test is like.
