In general and based on personal experience for those who have received 800s on SAT subject tests, what was your AP score to the corresponding exam if you took it?

5 or 4 at least. generally 5

I received an 800 on the SAT Biology Ecology, so I want to predict what I will receive on the AP exam if I self study it.

I got a 5 in AP Bio with the class. 2 days after taking that test, I took the SATII bio molecular, and I got a 720, haha.

Well, not 800's, but close enough, in my opinion :).

US SAT II = 780 = 5
LIT SAT II = 770 = 5 (English Language)
MII SAT II = 770 = 5 (BC Calc...personal strength is free response, so that might be part of the reason for my relatively lower Math II score)

I got an 800 on the Chemistry SATII. I don't think that correlates to a 5, sadly sigh

BTW, I'm taking AP chem next year, how is it?

An 800 does not correlate to a 5 because on SAT2, you have to answer almost all the MC correctly to get an 800. For AP exams, you can miss quite a few MC and make up for it with free response and still get a 5.

Eh, it depends when you take 'em. I got a 5 on my AP American test and like a 680 on the SAT II cos I waited a few months in between. They're different tests- make sure you're aware of just how different.

I'd say an 800 is harder to get than a 5 in its corresponding subject, so usually 800 = 5

It is much easier to get a 5 on an AP test than to get a >750 on the SAT II Subject test. The AP tests are curved and the range to get a 5 is huge. That is not the care for the SAT II.

I got a 750 on chem SAT II but got a 3 on the exam.
I think id depends on the subject and how the SAT II correlates to the AP subject. AP Chem is on completely different topics than the SAT II.

What about AP Biology compared to the SAT Biology-E?

Had Chemistry: 770 and 5
Spanish: 740 and 4, so...

I got 800 on Chem and a 5 on the Ap exam, but I would say there really is no big correlation between the 2. AP exam covers a lot more and much more in-depth.

"MII SAT II = 770 = 5 (BC Calc...personal strength is free response, so that might be part of the reason for my relatively lower Math II score)"

770 a relatively low score. Spoken like a true CCer :).

Indeed. As somebody who's going to be self-studying 6 APs, I sincerely hope an 800 does lead to a 5. (that'll be 6 5's for me then, thanks. :p:))

It also varies because like I mentioned earlier, some people are weak with MC but strong with FR, so do poorly on SAT2's, but do well on AP exams since FR plays a big role as well.

AP US History, for example, might not correlate as nicely - the APUSH exam is heavily free-response based, so just because you do really well on MC (aka 800 SATII), you won't necessarily get a 5 on your AP. Sadly.

guys,

there is no calculus on the SAT II Math tests, so there is no AP equivalent of the tests or corresponding test. you simply can not make an accurate judgement/correlation on this.

Bio: 750/5

I did take the SAT Bio exam a year before the AP though.
