610 on SAT II Bio=what on AP?

Took SAT II on June. What would your approximation be? Oh yeah and it's Bio E.

They are not comparable. For some people they are, but for others they are not.

although they are not comparable, you can rule out the possiblity of getting a 1 or 2

You probably got a 4 for sure, possibly a 5. I got a freakin' 580 on the SAT II (haha) and I got a 4 on the ap test, without knowing anything. Good luck!

Yea they really aren't comparable, but I would just set up a proportion...

610/800 = x/5

= 3.8125 (so a high 3 or low 4)

I'd say a 4 or a 5.

they test on different things. i didn't really understand much of the bio stuff we did last year (partially due to my laziness) but i got a 560 on bio and still passed the ap exam (only got a 3, but didn't think i would pass after getting my sat 2 scores)

I'd say between a 3 and a 4. How I do this is remove 200 since that is the lowest score you can get about.

So you have 410/600. Setup proportion: 410/600=X/5

X=3.416, so you have either a 3 or a 4. I honestly don't think you could have got a 5, but it's possible since the free response is nothing like the SAT II bio.

To compare, I got a 770/800 on Bio M. This means a 570/600=X/5

X=4.75 so I got a 5, possibly a 4 according to these calculations. I actually got a 5.

I got a 630 on Bio M, and ended up scoring a 4 on the AP Exam.... so passing isn't out of the question. This was with little or no studying but a casual interest in the material.

690 bio (messed up -- did better on practice ones), 5 on the AP (thought I'd get at best a 4, because of the FRQs).

I know I did good on one of the FRQ's but the other 3 were atrocious for me, which is why I hope I got at least a 3.

afruff23: Sorry, but I personally don't believe that SAT II score correlate to AP Scores in that way at all. Especially with the AP Biology exam, the curve is simply amazing compared to the SAT II, so I definitely think it's possible for the OP to get a 5, as I got a 4 but only a ****ty 580 on the SAT II.

What I would get in your terms (proportionally) would have been:

380/600 = x/5

x= 3.167

Although that is close to my score, I believe they do not correlate, especially in proportional terms such as that.

of course there are outliers to any correlating curve, but realistically, a 3 or 4 is possible for the OP. My calculations even worked for correlating your scores.

It's difficult to find a correlation between scores this year, because many took the subject test in May, and it was given on May 5th, ten days before the AP. This, I know, screwed quite a few people over who weren't ready for the subject test but were for the the AP.

Well obviously he got a 3 or a 4. I'm pretty sure he didn't get a 1 or a 2, because otherwise he would have literally failed the SAT II. Also, his score doesn't seem to show that he has the proficiency to get a 5 (although there is a slight chance).

3 or 4 makes sense.

wow i got a 2.

im utterly speechless. how am i going to break this to my parents...

all you guys are telling me i could have ruled out a 1 or 2. do you think i should rescore?

i don't think it would be worth it because you said yourself that you did poorly on the FR...AP scores don't even count much for admission so I don't think your parents should care too much about it

I was thinking that a 610 was around a 3, so a 2 is not completely impossible...
