84 or 89 for AP Stat?

...because i already own both.
84 was mandatory for geometry, so i bought one.
89 was mandatory for calculus, so i bought one.
which one should i use for statistics next year?

and for the record i bought both of them on sale.

my teacher told me to use the Ti-89. it does graph things pretty nicely. And I think it is recommended by CollegeBoard.

I found the stat calculations were much easier for me on the TI-84. I used my TI-89 for BC calculus but it was annoying to use for stats.

You should just ask your teacher - but I think the 89 would be better

A 83 plus worked just fine for me. Stats has nothing an 84 can’t handle.

i don’t know your school, but if your class is going deeper than the AP test goes, the stat package on the 89 will be able to do stuff that the 84 can’t. certain problems required expertise + 10 minutes to do on the 84, but one minute and no knowledge for the 89. lol.

interestingly there were one or two basic things the 89 couldn’t do, even though overall it’s best for stat. so keep both on hand.

My teacher gave us TI-89s to use and everything was pretty simple to do with them. The interface of the 89 stats package is fool proof, whereas with the TI-83/84 you have to memorize the order in which you put information into the lists.

I think 84 is best for statistics. I learned stats both on the 84 and 89, and I think it was just easier to get around the 84 for stats functions. 89 works better for calculus, in my opinion.
