I really want to know if I can get into here. I am applying ED here at Hopkins. What are my chances? I'm hoping my weaker parts like my act and rank will be overshadowed by my writing and personality that will shine through my writing. Thanks so much...and for you fellow college bounders--Good Luck!

Your testing and rank won’t work in your favor, but your extensive involvement in the newspaper will definitely be a positive. Also, you have a great plan for your future, and if you can convey how much that field means to you, it will really give admissions a great view of who you are and what your values are.

And one final thing…cat socializer? hahaha

I think your test scores/gpa/curriculum might be the thing that keeps you out of of John Hopkins. Always a chance though

haha hipho yeah, that’s the title they give you…my manhood went a little down at that time but it is pretty fun. And yeah, the newspaper has been my major club and I really enjoy it. I did explain how my illness coincides with my career path in my essay and I think that it was interesting. I also had a good amount of humor in my writing (i’m just hoping they laugh as loud as everyone that read it did). And hahalolk, yeah, i am aware that my gpa and act were a bit below their standards, I believe that I would be an excellent addition to their campus. I am familiar with the stereotype that jhu lacks a social scene (even though I don’t really believe this…) I think that they will read my essays and see that I am really well-rounded and will bring a breath of fresh air to their campus. Well…I guess all we can do is wait. I’ll let you know if I get in! Thanks for your optimism, and good luck with your college quests (if that applies to you)!
