<p>Hi All ,
This Thread is inspired by "Biggest Improvment Sat Stories"
Since most people needs help in specific sections, thus we should have a different Thread for each Section!</p>

<p>this is for the Writing Section ONLY~</p>

<p>Follow Something like this</p>

<p>Time taken first time - score (Example: PSAT Sophmore- 570)
Time taken second time - score (Example: Jan SAT Junior-640)
(for the time taken. try to use things relative to the year of high school so people have and idea of how far into school you are)</p>

<p>Please include as detailed as possible on how you studied, which part did you improve the most, and what you thought was helpful. More info, more appreciated!</p>

<p>Again, not a big improvement but...</p>

<p>October SAT Junior Year: 700 (9 essay)
March SAT Junior Year: 770 (10 essay)</p>

<p>I did nothing different between the two test dates, so it was pretty wierd. I had taken a course prior to the October SAT date. This was pretty random and unexpected, but satisfying none the less! =)</p>

<p>October PSAT Junior Year - 68
January SAT Junior Year - 790</p>

<p>I think I just improved because IMO the SAT is easier than the PSAT. My essay score stayed the same for my three sittings of the SAT, although IMO my June essay was much better than the others (one more point, and I would have gotten an 800).</p>

<p>I think that between the PSAT and SAT it was just getting used to the format. I took three practice tests between the June and January SAT.</p>

<p>Writing Scores:</p>

<p>PSAT Junior Year - 68
SAT Junior Year (June 07) - 800 (80 MC, 10 Essay)</p>

<p>To prepare, I did all of the multiple choice sections in the blue book tests. I didn't prep for the essay, since I took AP Comp this year and got enough practice in essay writing from assignments in class.</p>

SAT Junior (December): 590 (Essay: 9)
SAT Junior (May): 660 (Essay: 11)</p>

<p>I really didn't do anything in between the test dates other than write a ton during my AP English class (Spring of Junior year).</p>

<p>Went over grammar rules (a lot) and took a couple of practice tests. And my essay, eh, I have bad writing skills.</p>

<p>The point of the post is to post your stories, your scores are only used to see how long of a way your journey have come. please don't ONLY post your scores because thats not really helping anyone and you are better off posting a "Chance me" thread if you really want people to see your score.</p>

<p>If you have no story at all, then don't post your scores.</p>

March: 610
June: 680</p>

<p>Went over blue book lessons and took 6 practice tests from it. Went over what I got wrong on the PSAT in grammar. Reviewed general grammar rules in English class such as parallelism. Basically my best improvement but same studying for each section.</p>

<p>^^ oh and essay went from 9 to 11. Just used this site to learn about how people got 12's and what and how many references were good. Before I had no idea about historical or literary references.</p>

<p>I think I should have gotten a 12 but whatever, no big deal. I think I just rushed. And use some good vocab on the essay.</p>

<p>use testmasters for essay (11/12)
and just memorize all the rules from testmasters or barron's. Then do all the blue book exercises</p>

<p>sophomore PSAT: 480
junior sept. practice SAT: 580
junior PSAT: 650
junior jan. SAT: 620
junior april SAT: 680</p>

<p>delta(score) = 200 lol, I was an obsessive-compulsive writer for a while. I wrote lists a lot and analyzed grammar constantly. I couldn't help it. the percentile went from like 44th to 94th...half the population felt my wrath.</p>
