For the SAT IIs, I've taken mandarin w/ listening and I got a good score. I plan to take math level 2 in June and I'm positive I'll also get a good score.

I plan to apply to the UCs, USC, and probably some others. The UCs require 2 subject tests (Is that correct?). Do you think my mandarin and math level 2 scores will cover up for my world history score? Will they even look at my world history score? Or should I study hard and try again for World History..if i redo it, i still might not break 700, unless you guys have some breathtaking tips for me :D Otherwise, I don't want to redo it..

If they only ask for two, and you submit two that are higher than your WH scors.. then yes, they should only look at the highest two. I'd double check on the UC website (I'm sure it must be there SOMEWHERE!) for the exact policy.. but I have yet to hear of a school that will look negatively on a poor SAT II as long as you submit the required number of good ones.

Well, first of all, I don't remember learning much that year. We spent literally four months trying to define 'World History' and we were working on a documentary that had nothing to do with World History all year long. In fact, it was based only on our city. Anyways, I used Princeton Review's study guide thinking it was enough but it wasn't -_-. On the actual test (not the practice tests..) there were some topics I had never read about before.

The UC websites (I checked SD, LA, and Berkeley) say I need two subject tests. Do you guys think my mandarin and math II will cover the world history score?

A 470 is worse than 50% (scale is still from 200 to 800 these days, right?), so something went wrong. I doubt it will effect admission if you've got some others to show with success. You might take that one again just to give yourself some confidence that you just had a bad day.

If you send anything from Collegeboard, everything is seen. You cannot select which SAT scores you want sent. If you take SAT-1 four times colleges will see all four scores. Just do well in the other 2, and your schools will be happy.

The might, justifiably, question the College Board's ability to generate meaningful scores, or the validity of the test, or they could figure you just had an off day. I've always been told they only consider your highest score regardless of the test. Maybe your answer sheet was water-damaged? Wasn't that a problem recently on the SAT?

I don’t think that you will need to retake the test because they will look at the best scores. But you can just read Barron’s World History and retake the test. You will have no problems :)
