a bit ahead of myself..but need help!

Well i am currently waitlisted at my dream school- yes you guessed it Stanford. I have been working really hard to make stand out, so far i have written a great letter of interest and two essays one is WHY STANFORD, and WHY STILL STANFORD!

However, since i doubt i have a chance to make it off the waitlist
( supposedly only people who have contacts and whose parents were alumni get in off the waitlist:( ) I am thinking of transfering out next year. I will be heading to PENN Engineering or maybe Duke Engineering, not sure yet. I am probably retaking my SAT's.

So far my numbers go like this-

SAT: 2260/2400, 1520/1600 (probably will retake to get my writing component to a 750 + or 800)
SAT2's: 760 (chemistry) 740 (math2)--
( planning on giving Math 2 again for 800 and worldhistory for 800, i think its possible even though 800's are never predictable)

GPA- 3.91 UW...4.2 W
AFTER GRADUATION GPA: 3.93 UW..~4.4
(so far only one during my senior year)

AP's

Chem-4, US- 4
Predicited Scores: CALC(ab)- 5, World History- 5, English Lit 5-4, Physics B-4

Recent EC's:

Will be a member of my countries team in the International Chemistry Olympiad in July, 2007

Attended World MUN in Switzerland last month

Am i on the right track? i am thinking of transfering to Stanford or maybe Princeton/Columbia not sure about those but definitely Stanford.

Does being a waitlistee help, i will probably manage to mantain a 3.5+ GPA freshmen year at penn or duke- major undeclared (system or chem probably!)

Thanks for the help everyone!

Retaking your SAT would be considerably pointless.
Waiting lists are not ranked.
I suggest you just show your interest to Stanford, etc. - so in case, they decide to use the waiting list - you'll have an "advantage"
Being waitlisted is still commendable, and shows that you're qualified for the school - but they just don't have space to take you.

Princeton does not accept transfer applicants (read their website).
Columbia Engineering=Penn/Duke Engineering...no point transferring there ur getting the same education/prestige and very similar experience if u decide on Penn

major in chem; go to dream grad school in engineering. one of our students got her Ph.D. in biomed engineering doing that
