a bittersweet day! help a girl out with her last CC chances thread

<p>Rank: 17/~250 so top 6 percent
GPA: 3.78 uw/4.51 w (didn't work hard enough 9th grade)
SAT: 2140 770CR/740W/630M I know the math is low, but I brought that up from a 520
ACT: 32 C (36 R, 35 E, 28 M, 28 S)
SAT II: World History- 720, US History- 770, Lit- 760
AP World: 4
AP USH: 5
AP Bio: 5
AP Eng: 5 </p>

<p>Senior year:
AP Lit
AP Calc AB
AP US Gov
Honors physics
Spanish 5 (taking AP test)
+some required classes
Should only have a B in phyics, I'm terrible in that class. </p>

<p>EC:
Cross-Country: 4 years on varsity, captain junior and senior year. I have a few minor awards but i'm nowhere near good enough to run at college or anything
Track: 2 years on varsity, will run again this spring
Indoor track: 2 years
School newspaper: three years, copy editor jr. year, assistant editor senior year
NFTY: Jewish youth group, two years
Key club: three years, treasurer
10 years Jewish Sunday school, teacher’s assistant jr. and sr. year
I was also page for the state legislature.

<p>Last summer, I held a part time job and was trained as a literacy tutor for people of all ages.</p>

<p>I think my list is a bit top heavy but I already got into my state school and will go to the honors college there if I'm rejected everywhere.</p>

<p>Did you take the November SAT? Or are you planning to take the ACT again? I bet you could raise that math score on both plus that science score. The rest of your application is superb.</p>

<p>Thank you so much! I took the ACT again in September and actually did worse. I got a 29. And the SAT.... once I got over a 600 in math I was done. Math is kind of my downfall. </p>

<p>Any idea of my chances at these places? People have told me before, but I need some reassurance/advice. I'm kind of freaked out.</p>

<p>Great job raising your math score. You have a good all around profile and I think that you are in at Wisconsin and Maryland and that you have a good shot at UM. The others will be tougher but I wouldn't be surprised if you got into some of them. Good luck.</p>

<p>Thanks! I don't know if it makes any difference, but my U Mich GPA is ~3.9 since they don't look at freshmen grades.</p>
