A call from SUNY Purchase?

<p>Hello all.</p>

<p>I've finished up my callback audition at Purchase and was told I would be informed on/around April 1st. Needless to say i'm a wreck due to waiting, but i've heard afew rumors.</p>

<p>Has anything about getting a "call" from Purchase if you've been accepted been confirmed?
I've read/heard that some students were being contacted before April 1st via phone call if they've been accepted.</p>

<p>I suppose that is getting me down a bit, though I know to stay vigilant until I receive the letter. Just trying to be completely informed.</p>

<p>Thoughts?</p>

<p>It’s conceivable the calls could only be made to the students at the very top of the specific food chain, or the top third, or to all; it’s possible the calls are made only by specific faculty to students they have selected for their studio (though this may not apply specifically to Purchase).</p>

<p>Some schools notify in stages, or by discipline. And what a school has done in a prior year is not always indicative of this year’s policy.</p>

<p>I know Purchase calls kids for Drama acceptances, but haven’t heard about music.</p>

<p>Actually, I got a call about a week ago accepting me to Purchase. Oddly enough, the guy on the phone said I should have received an acceptance email as well, and I still haven’t. Since there are two violin teachers on faculty there, and the email would indicate which one I would study with, I still don’t know! I emailed the admissions office twice but haven’t heard back yet…</p>

<p>I recieved a call March 7, I believe, accepting me into the music conservatory. He told me I would be recieving the acceptance package in a few days, and the financial aid package in a few weeks. I got the acceptance packet a few days later and I am still waiting for the financial aid.</p>

<p>My S got a letter from Purchase with acceptance on March 8. He got a call regarding scholarship a few days later. This was for Jazz Studies so it might be different for other departments.</p>

<p>That’s good! Much better than being rejected. Are you still going to pursue going there, or are you going to invest in a different venue?</p>

<p>Sopranorose is totally right; don’t give up hope just yet!! Personally I’m probably going to SFCM or Stony Brook (good FA from both and I got nothing from Purchase). I wish I could give you my spot! What other schools are you considering?</p>

<p>I’ve been accepted into Westminster Choir College and i’m waitlisted at Mason Gross.
Thank you for all the support though! I’m going to keep pursuing Purchase; it’s my dream school!</p>

<p>BTW, I saw the opera there the other day and it was a great production. Something really cool to look forward to.</p>

<p>Jacque did give me some Comp tickets for the saturday show but I came from NJ on the George Washington bridge so the traffic was horrible and I didn’t get to make it.</p>
