A couple bad grades, but I made up for them. Do I still have a chance?

Helllo. I'm currently a junior. I've gotten 4 C's(83-84) and 1 D(74) as semester grades in high school. All of my final (not final exam-just final overall) grades have been 90+. I've also taken 9 college courses. I have taken the hardest courses too.

the C's were in:
Honors Algebra 2 (Freshman year 1st semester-83) I brought that up to a 93 second semester.
Honors English 1(Sophomore year 1st semester-83) I brought that up to a 98 second semester
Honors Chemistry(Sophomore year 1st semester-84) I brought that up to a 95 second semester
Honors Spanish2(Sophomore year 1st semester-84) I brought that up to a 100 second semester

And my one D was in:
Honors Pre-Calculs (Sophomore year 1st semester-74) I brought that up to a 98 second semester

The rest of my grades have been A's and B's, mostly A's with a few B's. I have taken every AP and Honors class possible.

My unweighted GPA is: 3.68 :/
I don't know what my weighted GPA is.
And the average of all my grades is 95, even with the 4 C's and the D.
The average of all the college courses I've taken is: 99 :)

SAT: 2250

I live in an area with a lot of discrimination against new immigrants and my organization was made to build bridges between the newcomers and the native and to break down biases :) I am the daughter of Somali refugees.

SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MY CHANCE IS TO GET INTO:

Smith College
University of Chicago
UPenn
Harvard :/
Dartmouth
Boston College
Northwestern
Emory
University of California-Berkeley, L/A
Tufts
Yale
Columbia
NYU

Semester grades don’t matter, colleges just look at the final grade for each course. If you got 90+(3.7 or higher) on everything, why is your GPA a 3.68? I’m guessing its because your school has a different system. Anyway, with all As and your SAT score I’d say you have a good shot at all of them.

^not true. Most high schools have grades every semester and they restart at the beginning of the new semester. So, colleges view both semester and final grades.

Honestly, with what you wrote it’s going to be based on how well your recs and essays will be.

Smith College
Boston College
Northwestern
Emory
University of California-Berkeley, L/A
Tufts
NYU

These are the colleges I think you have a reasonable (70-80 percent) shot at if you live in CA (if not, take out UCs.)

Ivy leagues will be hard if they weigh your semester grades heavily, but I’m feeling a low-Ivy will be possible.

EDIT: Saw the ECs again… you can apply to most of the colleges on your list and have a fair shot.

Well, then I guess it depends on the high school. My guidance counselor and several teachers at my high school have said that colleges only look at final grades.

Yes, the same thing at my school. They only send out final grades.

My school does GPA by semester grades, and it sends out the semester grades to colleges on the transcript. Our final grades aren’t calculated in our GPA, unfortunately.

Semester grades don’t matter, only final grades. Your colleges will never see your semester or exam grades, just finals. I think you have a chance to get in to all of your schools. Good luck.

Chance me?
