I changed my HS after 10th grade. In this school nobody has gone to US before. My principal (counsellor) is not familiar with the application process, nor is she willing to partake in my application process. I could not apply ED because of her.

My counsellor will ruin my chance of going to the United States. I assigned her as a recommender using the common app, when she received the email, she talked to me very rudely saying, "Why should I make an account?". She is not willing to understand anything, although I have good grades and ECs throughout. She just does not want to work on anything as she is overwhelmed by the process and extremely adamant.

I thought she would listen to my parents, but she shouted at them and dismissed them. She won't sign up on the common app, she won't upload the transcripts or school reports.

She asked me to upload the transcript myself, but I refused as the counsellor is supposed to do all this.

I have 33 ACT Composite, 780 Math II and 800 Physics. TOEFL: 110. Stellar grades throughout.

My counsellor is not willing to understand or be involved in any way.
Is there a way out? Can I still apply to colleges in United States?

This is very unfortunate. At this point, id say take things into your own hands. Get your recommendations instead from teachers who appreciate your hard work and are willing to submit via the commonapp (idk why they wouldn’t be excited for you in fact, if no one from your school has left for the US before).
Upload your transcripts, school reports etc yourself. You maybe should consider even getting the official documents printed & contact schools you wish to apply to, asking if you can instead send these materials by mail.

@anialways, my class teacher is in fact very enthusiastic about me applying to the United States, she would readily be my counsellor, but what about document verification? She is not privileged to attest/stamp forms.

She can sign and upload my documents, thats it. Would that suffice?

So maybe she can be your Counsellor and if all documents are to uploaded, then there would not be any need for physical verification.

I do understand the Principal’s predicament. She might be overloaded with work. Also Unknown sort of puts off or scares some people and so they try to avoid it. Maybe if you can request one more time, sincerely and very politely, to assign and authorise your class teacher to fill in. This in turn would save the Principal’s valuable time and effort and also train one of the teacher’s for future applicants from your school. I am sure the school would be very proud of you once you get into a great college.

I talked to my class teacher today. She will issue a transcript and she has agreed to be my counsellor. She will be uploading the transcript on common app shortly, although the transcript does not have any stamp on it, it has my teacher’s signatures. My 9th and 10th grades are on one page and have been stamped and signed by my previous school principal (many kids have gone to ivies and other colleges from that school). My teacher will collate the 9th,10th and 11th grade scores in 1 pdf and upload.

11th grade marks “do not” have a stamp on them, although my teacher can verify adcoms by phone/email. Will that work?

And anialways you have been a great help, I was almost giving up on the application process.

i just read this and im happy that you are at least able to apply. your principal seems cruel. its good that your teacher was able to do the needful. if the 11th grade marksheets do not have stamps but have the teachers signature, i think they will be okay. Good Luck!!!

I am really happy for you. Glad I could be of some help. Good for you. Every problem has a solution. I am sure you will land up in a great college and do very well in life. One of your strengths is not taking no for an answer and figuring out a way around, and this will stand you in good stead in life, always. Never give up. I wish you all the best with your college applications and also in life. May the force be with you.
