A Day for Juniors

So...anyone else out there attend? Any impressions? Likes/dislikes? Anyone now filling out their application and going to apply ED?

S will be a freshman next year and D will be applying but we live in SoCal so the schedule didn't work for us. May make another trip this spring while visiting other schools with D. Did you go? How did you like it?

The school must have friends in high places to have ordered up such beautiful weather for Junior Day.
Lovely almost family-like atmosphere, though highly focused on pursuit of excellence.
Direct comparison of two visits: Emory vs. Davidson. Davidson wins, for having real people, with real answers to questions, and clear passion for learning, for learning's sake.
Needed more students on panel discussion, in addition to professors.

Purplexed...maybe those Presbyterian connections run a little deeper than they say...

I enjoyed it. It wasn't my first time on campus (my brother attends) and one of his frat brothers was our tour guide. It was very well run and everything was on time. We were blessed with perfect weather. The day after was dreary and grey with an inch of rain.

I was struck by the pride the professors had for the school as well as the sense of community. Davidson's core values were emphasized much more than the other schools I've checked out. I'll be doing an overnight in the fall...I never have tasted the food.

As for the cons, the seminars were a little bit rushed but everyone was more than happy to answer questions during and afterward. The campus maps were slightly lacking and the basketball team was playing an away game that day (that might be for the better).
