My daughter did the day in Friartown yesterday at PC and I have to say it was a great way for her to see the school. She sat in on a dreaded Weatern Civ class and then met with professors over coffee. She was paired up with a host student in the honors college and with the same major she is pursuing. She attended another class with the host, had lunch with her and got an informal tour around the campus.
I want to say that this was a very well organized and executed event that had the effect on my daughter that I am sure PC wanted. She did not commit yesterday, however PC is firmly at the top of her list. She has a few other schools to visit, but I wanted to share our experience with a day in Friartown and recommend that anyone that is accepted and considering PC, try to attend one of these events.
My D spent a day last year in Friartown. I would say PC does great job with their tours and Friartown. My D was very impressed when she went too. What major is your D going into? Did she get accepted in the Honors Program and Merit Scholarship?
Well she went to all the accepted student days and shadowed at as many schools as she could and nothing topped what she saw during Friartown. We made the deposit last night she, she chose PC.
My student had the same choices as your D, a great mix of Jesuit and one Dominican school. Was in the LAH program. Graduated last spring debt free, is employed with a great job and benefits, living on her own , very happy – all goals met for parents and kid.
