A Day

Hey- just wanted to post that on A-Day if you know in advance that your family will not be able to make it, some alumni will be gathering down some stairs by Ike along with other various cadets for sandwiches, cookies and candy after the parade. Everyone is really nice and Mr Dilandro is awesome (class of 79). Sorry I'm kinda vague about the location but it's I guess to the right in the trees on that flat parcel of land with the trees. (I know, I'm sooooo specific)

Even if your family does make it, drop by!

I went the last two years, and will hopefully be there again this year!

Ike Hall (Huge brick auditorium building) or Ike barracks (On the Plain, next to the statue of Eisenhower)? If you can tell me which, I can probably mock up some better directions :)

I don't remember, all I remember is going down some stairs and making a right toward the trees. It's like packed earth or something, but that's where we meet and put the tables. There's a big arch thing...Yeap, bad memory, poor sense of direction and I still manage to complete the orienteering map thing with the red/white flags...

I think you mean the parking lot at the bottom of ODIA Hill. It's right next to Flirtation Walk and that's the only arch I can think of.

To get down there...Start at Mac Statue, walk towards Thayer Statue. Cross the road. Take the right down the road just after the bus stop. At the bottom of that hill (ODIA will be on your left, thus ODIA Hill) is a medium sized parking lot.

To get to the River Courts, which is another popular picnic spot...Start at Ike statue. Walk past the library towards Thayer Hall and the river. Take a left on the other side of the road. Go down the stairs by the Pershing Club, there's a bus stop and an awning over them. You'll get to a metal walkway, zig zag down that till you get down to the playing fields. Head left, at the end of the road along the river there's a few picnic tables and bbq grills and stuff. It's fairly shady down there too, so the heat won't be such a big issue, and if the crew team opens up the bathrooms down there, that'll be good, too :) There may even be a water fountain, but I don't remember it working.

When the time comes, you can pm me for my cellphone # and the people I'm with can more than likely direct you better than I can to our location.
