So, I want to be a doctor (Yes, I know that it's a lot of hard work, and you hear this every other post). Anyhow, I'm almost done my freshmen year of university and didn't do as amazing as expected. (Eng'g major). First semester I got a B+ (Econ, physics, chem lab) in every class, save for Chem I and Calc II. (C+ for both -.-) (Roughly a 3.1 GPA) I'll admit this was mostly my slacking and not working hard enough. However second semester I have picked it up, and now have an A in my two physics classes, a humanity class and programming, as well as a B/B+? in Chem II and a B+ in Calc III. (So about a 3.5~3.6 GPA)

As for extracurricular, I am currently applying for research and have a few clubs which i regularly participate in. I am currently doing a CPR and EMT course for the summer to volunteer, and will be starting volunteer work at the state hospital starting next year. I was wondering if I still have a chance for any medical school (Goal is Ann Arbor, but of course I'd be happy with any school). Regardless, I'm wondering if I still have a chance to be accepted, what sort of other work i should take and if I should retake my classes (Bad idea it seems?). I have yet to do bio, upper level physics and (orgo, scheduled with very easy classes).
