I'll be applying to Fsu this fall. When can I actually start the application process? When they they begin to accept applications? Semptember I assume?

Are the essays the same every year or no? I would like to begin to prepare for those to save some time.

Would you highly recommend visiting fsu over the summer? My parents and I are probably gunna go down there for a weekend to check it out.

Yeah...I would like to know the answers to these questions as well.
P.S. That was probably the worst butchering of the word "September" I have ever seen....haha, just kidding of course.

Usually August of the preceeding year for Fall semester. For example, if you plan on entering Fall of 2008 (which is actually later August, 2008) you apply August 2007 and learn of your admission decision on Nov 1, 2007.

This "early" application has several advantages over waiting for a later cycle:
1. You have a better chance of admission.
2. If you are admitted, you have the best chance for a low dorm number.
3. You have the best chance for university scholarships (first come, first served).

Last year, my daughter applied to FSU early in August. The essays were the same in 2006 as they are for this years class of 2007. She was accepted online on November 1st and received notification on her scholarship ($9600 total) on November 22nd.

My second daughter is applying to FSU this summer (for summer '08 admission). Although it is better to plan a visit during spring or fall sessions (to truly get a feel for the school ambience), we plan to visit in June when she is done with her junior year of hs (and summer session is going on). At least there will be some students mulling around campus to chat with.

March 5-9 is FSU's Spring Break, you may want to visit during your high school's Spring Break if it is a different week. For future reference President's Day weekend would have been another date when FSU is in session but high school would have been on holiday.
