A Few Questions about CC

So I can't sleep and I was browsing the forum and a few questions came to mind.

1.) Laptops -- Do/Did you all regularly use/bring them to CCs? I mean I know at universities and stuff people usually cart around their laptops. I'm just wondering if I'll really need to lug it around or a notebook will be just fine.

2.) TAP -- I've already decided I'm going to do TAP since my goal is UCLA. I know that they let you choose an alternative major. But how do you decide what alt. major to choose? Do you plan ahead of time and complete pre-reqs for both your intended and alternate major?

3.) UCI English Major requirements -- My backup plan is UC Irvine. So I was looking at the course articulation between De Anza/UCI. After it states take 3 courses from the below + the lang requirements, it says to fulfill a course from each of the four areas (lower-div writing, eng lit, history, and philosophy) so can I use some of the courses from the other pre-req areas (such as from the take three courses section.)

Sorry if this last question wasn't clear...

ah....a fellow nightowl

1) i brought mine to keep busy between classes...laptops are uncommon in most classes...maybe 1 person in the whole class will actually use one for note-taking.....good old pencil and paper is all you need at the cc

2) didn't do tap and don't know anything about it, so .......

3) i don't think pre-reqs can be used to cover the breadth requirements too. i'd assume that a class can only be used to fulfill one requirement (with the exception of a foreign language class which can fulfill the foreign lang requirement and a breadth/prereq....depending on the major)
