Job market was tough when I applied (couple decades ago). There were a lot of kids in my class who were in law school because they didn’t know what else to do. They struggled more than most. Particularly compared to people who had worked for a couple years post-college. Actually wanting to be there was a big boost.
A lot of young attorneys don’t understand that they are getting paid high salaries to work long hours, late/all night, weekends/holidays, not to be in control of your schedule, etc. Its not for everyone. And taking the good without the bad isn’t an option.
