Okay so my first question is do you think I will get in or not? I go a well-respected private school in Massachusetts, I have a 3.6 gpa (on a 4.0 scale), 1710 on my SATS (620 on math and 600 on reading), good community service and good extracurriculars.

My next question is do you think I have an increased chance of getting in if I apply as undeclared, or applying with a major. I plan on majoring in biochemistry/chemical engineering, and I was wondering if it would help if during my senior year I took some electives that supported that major?

I think that you have a fairly decent chance of getting in. Just work to keep your GPA up and continue with the extracurriculars/community service. I would recommend that you apply to the program that you want to be in right away. Clemson won’t want to accept very many students into undeclared, even though it happens sometimes (I had a friend who was undeclared). Those electives will definitely help, take as much math/sci as possible.

you have a shot. Your grades are good, definitely keep them where they are. I would try and see if you can improve your SAT score to better your chance (average SAT score is 1231 for math and reading). I actually don’t know if you have where you have a better chance of getting in. I personally would apply for the major you want as your first choice since it may be harder to get into your major if you go undecided.
