A few questions

First of all, ignore my name, I made this account last year

  1. Am I technically late if I applied today? I know at American schools, January 15th means 11:59 PM on that day at the very latest. Is it different for McGill?
  2. What are my chances? I'm an American who applied Arts and Sciences. The programs I applied to were Phys,Earth,Math&Comp Sci and Bio-Phys-Computational Sci. My GPA is 97/100 UW with 7 AP's, 6 dual enrollment's, and the rest honors. SAT is 1570, SAT II's are 800 Physics & Chem, 790 US, 730 Math II.
  3. Do AP scores matter? If so, here they are: APES:5, Chem:5, US:5, Lang:5, Physics 1&2: 4
  4. When should I expect a decision? I know it's rolling, but could it be later than May 1st?

Thanks in advance for the answers

  1. Today is the deadline.
  2. Your SAT scores are way above the minimum. An A- is the minimum for Science which would be a 3.7 GPA. It is not easy to convert percentages to the 4.0 GPA standard but you are at least at the minimum.
  3. AP scores only matter in obtaining credit for courses once admitted.
  4. McGill has its own version of rolling admission. In general top students are accepted first but this cycle it appears somehow different. McGill tries to get American decisions out by April 1st except for borderline applicants for who the decision may be delayed.

Here are the minimum requirements:

@TomSrOfBoston

By “today is the deadline,” do you mean that I’m late if I applied today? It’s not exactly clear and I’m wondering if they count it as late

It would not be late today. Tomorrow it would be late.

Great, thanks!
