ACT:30-31 essay 11/12
rank: in top 8% at very competitive school (our school ranks high)
In APs taken top grades, and on the test a 5 taking a ton more this year (as many as possible, given what the school offers)

Do more so centralized clubs/ activities just based on what interests me. Mostly art related consistent from before hs on.

Can have excellent recs.

My essays are well written

Taken online classes

My gpa is around a 3.8/ 4.0 I think

Would be first to go to college

Also have a steady job over the past few years

what else should i post? they sent me an application... so would it be prudent to apply, or a waste of my time?

No, AA shouldn't be your sole lifeline! However, your stats ARE competitive. I love that you've clearly demonstrated a love of art...Personally, art is my second love, right after English. I hope that you're able to get in!

I hope so... and for anyone who's done this whole admissions process before any insight/ words of advice?

amnesia you a Harvard fan? (I thought Harvard would be much harder to gain admission to...)

also Ive been told that I should choose my top school and apply EASC (which I am ready to do)... as it would give me a better chance...

also is it true that one has a better chance the earlier the application is sent in (given it wasn't rushed and is polished etc&) even if for rd?

About 14 days till the deadline so any info? (I am however ready to send in the app. Just cant decide on WHO I should choose EASC such a hard decision, too bad I cant apply to all EASC )

Sorry, for the panic ramble just need some advice and quick. (it is nice to have advice from people I dont know, seems more impartial then)

Applying EASC is a good idea, IMO, because if you get in you don't have to go through this for more schools. Plus, 19% of EA applicants are admitted vs. less than 9% RD applicants.

How long you send it before the deadline benefits nothing but your peace of mind.

Choose where you really want to go based on the programs offered, campus, students, extracurricular offerings, and the surrounding city...not on reputation. If you like an unknown LAC better than Yale, then apply EA to that little LAC (I was going to apply early to Colgate University, but they only have ED and I can't take the chance with finances).

There's no need to panic. You know you'll be fine no matter what happens.

I don't know, Yale made an excellent impression on me due to the tour guide (a senior). We also ended up talking to a few random people as we wandered around after the tour. I think it is somewhere i could live, but what i want (mainly) to know- is it worthwhile to apply to such a selective school EASC, but reading the replies so far it sounds time worthy... (as for my favorite smaller school Im fairly sure Ill be accepted w/ RD)... Im glad I found this website, everyone here is so helpful.

In terms of comparing its selectivity with Harvard, they're both running at about 9-10% overall admissions and selectivity of students is pretty much equal as well.

Yale is amazing! I love it here... and it's no secret that your chances for admission are higher if you apply EA. You're considered more likely to accept an admissions offer.

No application to a school that you would really like to got is a waste of time.
