A grade of D & minimum pogress

Hi guys! So I’m a bit confused about the minimum progress requirement of 39 units per academic year. Specifically, I’m confused about whether classes you got a D or a D- in count towards minimum progress. As far as I know, it’s considered “barely passing”, and should, logically, therefore be counted. However, on my OASIS page it says that I’m not Academic Probation (Minimum Progress) ;-; I’ve researched about it on ucdavis.edus websites, but haven’t found any clear answers, alas.
It’d be great if someone could answer this question for me  Thanks,

Hmm, everything I’m finding just says that courses that are “completed with a passing grade” are counted towards unit requirements. I’m not really sure what’s going on in your case (I’m assuming you mean that OASIS says you’re on academic probation). So I’m not sure what to tell you there, sorry. You could try emailing your adviser to find out.

Based on just being on probation, not counting the D grade you averaged between 36 and 38 units this past year. The good news with that is that you should be able to get the probation cleared up in the fall if you’re taking at least 15 units, regardless of where you fall in that range. Of course, the minimum amount of units you’ll need to clear it depends on the exact unit counts for each quarter. Alternatively, if you’re enrolled in summer sessions at all you’ll be fine as long as you pass those classes and your fall classes.

Looks like @PhantomVirgo answered your question but I am confused on your posting. You are stating on your post that you are NOT Academic Probation (Minimum Progress)? That means you should be fine other than retaking the D.

Minimum progress means that you have to average 39 units for the year, which is an average of 13 units per quarter. That doesn’t mean you have to take 13 units per quarter, you can take 12 units in fall, 16 in winter, and 12 in spring, and the total will be 40 for the year, so you will be meeting minimum progress. As far as receiving a grade of D, I think it will count towards minimum progress as long as you complete it. If you are receiving financial aid, also remember that you have to maintain a 2.0 average and complete a certain percentage of the units you are taking (67%); its called SAP and every school has one.
