My friend is a jazz drummer. He applied and auditioned at a ton of schools for BM in Jazz. He got rejections from Purchase, Temple, William Patterson, Rutgers, CCM, and basically the majority of schools he applied to. He scrambled to apply to CUNYS and SUNYS and did a very last min. audition last weekend at UARTS.

Well today he got a letter that he got into his top choice. Peabody!!!!
You really only do need one. He is sooo happy and his parents are taking him out to dinner.

:-) that is just lovely.

Congrats to him.

A lesson to be learned: every audition is a crapshoot. And you only need one yes.

Oh, that really is a happy story!
: D

May be it will help someone in the future...D was accepted in CIM (Cleveland),acceptence came as an"urgent" e-mail in the end of February with usual "we delighted..."etc. She even get assingment from future teacher, the greatest in the field. She was accepted in few more schools, but dreamed about CIM. March 25, e-mail from only teacher in field of CIM---he suddenly switched to Jacobs School,IU. March 27,all 6 students of that department recently accepted in CIM received from CIM an e-mail that application fee will be returned and program suspended and so they are not anymore CIM accepted students. IU allowed to apply before April 1 (though deadline was Dec.1 !). Well, D made an emergency audio recording and was able to send it by overnight UPS few hours before deadline on April 1. ....She is accepted now in Jacobs School of Music, IU. She is HAPPY!!!
